The fabrics I use are 100% cotton, linen, cashmere, silk and wool. They are biodegradable, and natural fibers provide a different experience of touch for the senses than a synthetic or plastic material.
The doll’s hair is made from wool, mohair, or a blend of wool, mohair and silk. I often dye the hair with plant-based dyes or red clay. I also buy yarn for hair that is mill-dyed. The magic of using plant-based dyes is they produce slightly different hues and saturation levels, so the hair looks more natural. Although it’s more expensive and time consuming, I love using these wonderful materials – every item is unique.
