Each grade level of handwork is designed to correspond with a student’s inner development. For example, my 6th graders spend the year crafting a doll – but it’s not just a doll, it’s a sculpture of a human being.
At that age, a child’s focus shifts from parents or teachers into self-awareness. 6th grade students have graduated from lower school and are ready to leave that young child behind. This course provides a passageway to form that human being, their identity. Kids love choosing every detail of hair, eye and skin colors, clothing and accessories.
